The mottled pink and red foliage gradually darkens to purple and red in autumn making a superb contrast with spring flowers and bright red, late summer berries. Berberis thunbergii f. atropurpurea ‘Rose Glow’ is as versatile as it is pretty, making an attractive specimen shrub in garden borders or trimmed as a prickly hedge to deter intruders.
