A classic Rock Rose with elegant papery white blooms, flecked with splashes of deep burgundy. Cistus purpureus ‘Alan Fradd’ is the perfect seaside plant, tolerating salty air and sandy, dry soils where many plants would fail to thrive. From early summer this compact shrub is covered in cup shaped blooms, each lasting just a day before a new bloom takes its place. The narrow, green foliage forms a neatly rounded evergreen shrub that looks perfect in gravel gardens and sunny borders. Although hardy to around -5°C, rock roses will appreciate a sheltered site with some winter protection. Height and spread: 100cm (39″).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
