A very unusual variety of the much wider known species, Crinodendron ‘Ada Hoffman’ is one of those choice specimen shrubs which can’t fail to attract attention. It forms a large, evergreen shrub clothed in leathery, deep green, narrow leaves. Even when not in flower, it makes a handsome feature. But the real show starts in late spring when it produces extraordinary lantern-shaped, pendulous flowers in a delicate shade of pale pink, which hang elegantly from long stalks. The thick-petalled, waxy flowers are produced over many months, continuing until the end of summer. A very special and unique plant for a sheltered spot in acid soil.
