Sea hollies are wonderful for adding architecture amongst the soft peaks and troughs of other border perennials. Basal rosettes of dark green leaves boldly marked with silvery veining give rise to stiff stalks bearing deep blue thistle-like flowers surrounded by long, spiky bracts. Flowering in July and August, it makes a fantastic partner to other drought-tolerant perennials such as Perovskia and Kniphofia. This short cultivar is easily accommodated in smaller borders and great for dotting about in gaps, where bees and butterflies will love it. Given freely draining soil, Eryngium variifolium ‘Miss Marble’ is as tough as old boots, demanding nothing more than cutting down in autumn, or leave it until spring and enjoy the dried seed heads over winter. Height: 40cm (16”). Spread: 20cm (8”).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
