A recent introduction for British gardeners. Lagerstroemia indica ‘Double Feature’ is a bushy, deciduous shrub of dense branching habit. From spring to autumn it is cloaked in dark green leaves which emerge burgundy red when young. In frost prone areas it is best grown near a warm, sunny wall or given some protection from harsh winter weather. Ruby red flowers are formed in clusters, formed of crinkled, crepe like petals which drop as petals age and new buds form. Flowering over a long period from July to October, the blooms are sterile so no seed capsules will form. Height: 1.2m (4′). Spread: 1m ( 3′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
