A syringa with real staying power – French bred Lilac ‘Belle de Nancy’ was first introduced in 1891 and remains as popular as ever today! The double mauve pink flowers are borne at the stem tips in dense clusters, emitting a fabulous sweet perfume. Heart shaped foliage cloaks the branching stems, making a pleasing backdrop for summer flowering perennials, or an attractive screening plant. Lilac is a popular choice for traditional cottage garden schemes and makes a superb cut flower. The nectar rich blooms are also loved by butterflies. Height and spread: 7m (22’).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
