‘Balmy Pink’ is a dwarf form of Monarda, selected for its early flowering and resistance to mildew which can be a problem with other varieties. The vivid pink flowers, composed of whorled clusters of flowers bracts, are quite unlike any other perennial flower, forming shaggy heads which with diligent dead heading will bloom continuously from summer to autumn. They look wonderful next to the contrasting flower shapes of other dwarf ‘Prairie-style’ perennials, such as the upright spikes of Agastache ‘Astello Indigo’ or the daisy heads of Echinacea purpurea ‘Little Magnus’. The flowers and foliage are richly aromatic, earning Monarda the name ‘Bee Balm’ as it is highly attractive to pollinators. Height: 30cm (12”). Spread: 25cm (10”).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
