Highly regarded as one of the best varieties to grow in the UK, particularly for organic growers. Pear ‘Concorde’ combines excellent suitability for the UK climate, with the mellow, sweet flavour of many of the old French varieties. This makes for a reliable, heavy cropper with a fabulous flavour. The fruits are attractive, long and slender with a slight russet to the skin. Crops can be harvested in late September and keep well until November. Being self-fertile it makes a good choice for gardens where there is only space for one tree.
