A very beautiful version of the popular mock orange. From May to July, the cascading branches of Philadelphus ‘Minnesota Snowflake’ are covered in racemes of fully double, snow-white flowers with pointed petals that show up beautifully against dark green foliage. The flowers are highly scented, their ‘orange blossom’ perfume carrying far on warm evenings.
Philadelphus are extremely rewarding deciduous shrubs, boasting an elegant arching habit, masses of blossom and a heavenly perfume. Surprisingly, they are also very robust. They are great for partially shaded sites and will cope with all soils from heavy clay to chalk, growing rapidly to form superb structural shrubs for mixed borders. The scented flowers attract bees and other beneficial pollinators making Philadelphus a good choice for wildlife gardens. Height: 2m (6.5ft). Spread: 2.5m (8.2ft).
