Physocarpus opulifolius ‘Summer Wine’ is a compact, hardy and deciduous shrub that is easy to grow in almost any part of the garden. Deep burgundy, wine coloured leaves densely smother this architechtural plant, turning bronze in autumn before they fall to the ground to reveal the characteristic flaking bark of this variety. Ninebark, as it is commonly known, produces clusters of small white flowers along its stems during the summer which contrast nicely with the foliage. An ideal plant as a backdrop to flower borders, or as part of a shrub collection of any size where it will certainly hold its own! Height: 150cm (59″). Spread: 150cm (59″).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
