Rarely seen, Rostrinucula dependens ‘Happy Cascade’ is similar in its appearance to a buddleja. A hardy, deciduous, suckering shrub with arching stems that are cloaked with lance-shaped, dark grey-green leaves and brown, flaking bark. Long, drooping panicles of bright purple-pink flowers appear from August and continue until October, creating a magnificent cascading effect. Rostrinucula makes an unusual addition to the garden, enjoying a sheltered position where it will always attract attention for its striking appearance. Perfect for bringing late summer interest to borders and exotic planting schemes, or grown as a specimen plant on the patio. Height and spread: 180cm (6′).
