Viburnum Carlesii ‘Aurora’

This hardy deciduous shrub is unmissable in spring. Each shoot is tipped with a cluster of tight red buds which unfurl to reveal tubular pink flowers with the most intoxicating fragrance. Simultaneously, the young downy foliage breaks bud to cloak the stems in dark green foliage that will turn fiery orange and red by autumn. Viburnum carlesii ‘Aurora’ is a medium sized shrub, well suited to wide borders, cottage gardens, and the edge of woodland plantings. This superb shrub deservedly holds an RHS AGM for its excellent garden performance. Height and spread: 2m (6.5’).
