Bearing lavender-blue flowers in spring above purplish heart-shaped leaves, Viola labradorica is a low-growing evergreen perennial that is excellent for groundcover, woodland gardens, underplanting shrubs and roses and planting amongst spring bulbs. Labrador violets require virtually no maintenance and will quickly spread around and naturalise in moist but well-drained conditions. A charming, easy and versatile plant that looks fabulous planted in drifts. Height: 15cm (6in). Spread: 20cm (8in).
